Under the supervision and direction of the Gainesville region clinical manager, the Administrative Assistant is responsible for providing administrative support to the department.
Position Details
Work Location: In-office position located at Community Hospice & Palliative Care main office: 3870 NW 83 St, Gainesville, FL 32606 ; no work from home at this time
Compensation: $18.00-22.00/hour; plus full benefits package including 23 days annual PTO
Days/Hours: Monday – Friday 8:00am – 5:00pm
Primary Responsibilities:
Utilizes and troubleshoots electronic equipment such as copiers, fax machines, agency cell phones and personal computers.
Assists setting up orientations, mandatory in-services, and CPR training for the department staff.
Facilitates communication with and prepares special reports for the Patient Care Administrators (PCAs) as needed.
Assists with the coordination of identified staffing needs organization-wide.
Staffing of new or on-going cases, Supportive Care cases, and Therapy services as directed by the Manager daily.
Scheduling staffing needs identified in the Long Term Care and Home Care settings, as well as Inpatient, as necessary.
Prioritizes the fulfillment of the staffing needs of Community Hospice with usage of Community Hospice staff while maintaining the appropriate organizational standard staffing mix (i.e. LPN/CNA) for all cases as directed.
Completes staffing assignments by providing scheduled staff with appropriate, thorough information and directions to care setting.
Appropriately notifies the Manager of any staffing needs unmet by Community Hospice staff and documents them accordingly.
Notifies team/appropriate personnel of staffing issues.
Performs data entry, report recording, and clerical duties related to all operations.
All other duties as assigned.
Education/Experience:
Any combination of education and experience that would provide required skills and knowledge for successful performance would be qualifying. Typical qualifications would be equivalent to:
Technical/high school diploma or GED.
Two (2) years of administrative experience including data entry and reporting.
Experience in a health care environment preferred.
Intermediate to advanced computer skills, word processing experience with the ability to type, file and do general clerical work.
Experience with Excel spreadsheets and reports.

Pay: $18.00 – $22.00 per hour
