Full Job Description
The mission of the Tunnel to Towers Foundation is to honor the sacrifice of firefighter Stephen Siller who laid down his life to save others on September 11, 2001. We also honor our military and first responders who continue to make the supreme sacrifice of life and limb for our country.
The Tunnel to Towers Foundation is committed to eradicating homelessness amongst our veterans. The Foundation is seeking an experienced administrative assistant to support the Director of Construction in each phase of commercial construction and renovation of new acquisitions (commercial and hospitality construction) as it relates to our Homeless Veteran Program.
Applicants must be well organized, have the ability to effectively multi-task within a timely fashion, follow up, possess a keen attention to detail, prioritize multiple projects and workload, and handle sensitive information.
Duties and responsibilities
● Conducting administrative duties, such as maintaining filing systems, both electronic and physical, setting up meetings, managing communications, (drafting invoices and drawing estimates.)
● Managing an active calendar/schedule.
● Book and coordinate travel arrangements.
● Prepare and edit correspondence, both internally with members of the team and externally with program beneficiaries and broader support network.
● Tracking and reporting project progress.
● Analyzing data as required.
● Performing other duties assigned by the Director of Construction in an orderly and efficient manner.
Qualifications
● 3+ years’ experience as an Administrative Assistant
● Background in the construction, architectural, or engineering fields a plus.
● Proficiency in any management and collaborative software tools
● Strong written and oral communication skills
● Excellent multitasking and computer skills
● Ability to work under pressure with minimal supervision
● Excellent problem-solving skills
● Ability to create and manage construction budgets.
● Must be willing to travel within the United States on behalf of Tunnel to Towers as needed.
● Willingness to learn new skills.
● Proficiency in Office and/or Google Suite.
Working conditions
Special Working conditions may include: a change in days worked, shift hours, and/or working conditions (outdoors or other locations) when participating and assisting in special events such as: NYC Tunnel to Towers Run, golf outings, and other fundraising events, as required. Travel required (25%).
Job Type: Full-time
Pay: $50,000.00 – $65,000.00 per year
