The Team
The Finance & Accounting department plays a central role in managing KFF’s grants, contracts, accounting and other financial responsibilities.
Your Role
KFF is seeking an Accounts Payable Accountant to support the Finance & Accounting department by performing a variety of accounts payable processing duties. The position requires commitment to accuracy and attention to detail, as well as strong communication and interpersonal skills.
What You’ll Do
Process and code check requests
Audit and code employee expense reports
Enter disbursements into Microsoft Dynamics GP accounting system
Process check runs and electronic payments
File paid vouchers
Research vendor payment history
Journal entry posting & account reconciliation
Preparation of bank deposits
Special projects and provide other assistance, as needed
Minimum Desired Qualifications, Skills, and Experience:
Experience with accounts payable procedures
Knowledge of automated expense and accounting system (Dynamics GP a plus)
Strong attention to detail & accuracy
Excellent math and organizational skills
Basic knowledge of Excel & Word
Ability to work well independently, as well as in a collaborative setting
Excellent communication skills and ability to manage remote work effectively
Strong interpersonal skills and demonstrated ability to work in a highly collaborative environment, across multiple teams, as well as with external vendors and other parties
Bachelor’s degree in accounting/business administration preferred

This full-time position will be based in KFF’s San Francisco headquarters. KFF is currently working a hybrid schedule and requires all staff to work in the office a minimum of two days a week.
Compensation
Salary is competitive and commensurate with experience and qualifications. Compensation includes an outstanding benefits package equivalent in value to approximately fifty percent of base salary including a generous and immediately vested defined contribution plan and zero-premium health coverage.
The annual salary range for the Accounts Payable Accountant position is between $85,000 and $93,000. Our job titles and salary ranges may span more than one career level, and the salary offered to a candidate will be determined based on factors such as the scope and responsibilities of the position, job-related knowledge and skill set, depth of experience, certifications and/or degrees, and our practice of upholding salary equity within the organization.
