Role Description The Accounting Payroll role is a part-time remote position responsible for managing and processing payroll activities accurately and on schedule. Day-to-day tasks include entering and verifying payroll data, coordinating payroll cycles, calculating wages and deductions, and ensuring compliance with organizational policies and applicable regulations. The role will handle inquiries related to employee compensation, support the administration of benefits and garnishments in coordination with payroll services, and maintain organized and secure payroll records. This position works closely with finance and HR teams to reconcile payroll reports, address discrepancies, and provide timely support for audits and reporting needs.
Qualifications
- Candidates should possess skills in Payroll Processing and Payroll Administration to manage regular pay cycles and related documentation.
- Candidates should possess skills in Payroll Taxes and Payroll Services to ensure compliance with tax regulations and effective use of payroll systems or providers.
- Candidates should possess skills in handling Garnishments to accurately process court-ordered or legally required deductions.
- Experience with accounting or finance functions, including basic bookkeeping and reconciliation, is beneficial.
- Proficiency with payroll software and spreadsheets, along with strong attention to detail and accuracy.
- Ability to handle confidential information responsibly and communicate clearly with team members and employees.
- Prior experience in a nonprofit environment or mission-driven organization is a plus.
- Relevant education or training in accounting, finance, or business administration is preferred.
