The Accounting Manager will lead the financial operations for a mission-driven nonprofit organization, overseeing accounting, budgeting, financial reporting, and grant management to support the organization's programs and long-term success
Location: Wilmington, DE (Hybrid)
Salary: Up to $100,000 annually
Essential Functions:
- Oversee all accounting operations, including AP, AR, payroll, month-end close, and financial reporting
- Develop and manage annual budgets, forecasts, and budget-to-actual reporting
- Lead grant accounting, including tracking funding, compliance, reporting, and grant lifecycle management
- Prepare monthly, quarterly, and annual financial statements for leadership and the Board
- Manage the annual audit and ensure compliance with GAAP and nonprofit accounting standards
- Supervise and mentor a small accounting team while improving financial processes and internal controls
- Partner with executive leadership to support strategic financial planning and organizational growth
Qualifications:
- 5+ years of accounting or finance leadership experience
- Nonprofit accounting experience required
- Strong grant accounting and grant management experience
- Advanced Microsoft Excel skills
- Experience with budgeting, financial reporting, and audits
