Job Overview
We are seeking a detail-oriented and organized Accounting Assistant to join our finance team. The ideal candidate will support various accounting functions, including accounts payable, general ledger accounting, and tax preparation. This role requires proficiency in accounting software and strong data entry skills to ensure accurate financial reporting and compliance.
Responsibilities
Assist in processing accounts payable transactions, ensuring timely payments to vendors.
Maintain accurate records in the general ledger and assist with month-end closing procedures.
Support tax preparation activities by gathering necessary documentation and data.
Perform data entry tasks with a focus on accuracy and efficiency, utilizing 10 key typing skills.
Utilize accounting software such as QuickBooks, Sage, or Ceridian for various financial tasks.
Collaborate with team members to streamline accounting processes and improve efficiency.
Assist in preparing financial reports and statements as needed.
Requirements
MUST be proficient in QuickBooks.
Strong understanding of corporate accounting principles, including accounts payable and general ledger accounting.
Familiarity with tax regulations and compliance requirements is preferred.
Excellent data entry skills with a high level of accuracy; 10 key typing experience is essential.
Ability to work independently as well as part of a team in a fast-paced environment.
Strong attention to detail and organizational skills to manage multiple tasks effectively.
Previous experience in an accounting role is preferred but not required; recent graduates are encouraged to apply.

Pay: $18.43 – $19.36 per hour
